EE domain price reduced by 2 euros

As Estonian Internet Foundation announced last year reduced price and updated Domain Regulation of EE domain will apply from today.

The biggest change is that from now on the EE domain can be registered for up to three years instead of one year as it was so far. At Estonian biggest domain registrar Zone Media the EE domain registration fee for one year is 19.74 euros, for two years 38.28 euros and for three years 55.62 euros (prices include VAT).

Other important changes are:

– Domain registration prices will be reduced by 2 euros. As we promised in November 2012 we will change our pricing policy and also drop the price by the same amount so that our clients can get the full benefit of the price change.

– New domain registration periods and prices will become available. If you register a domain name for two years, you will save 3 euros when compared with current pricing. If you register a domain name for three years, you will save 4 euros.

– If your domain name expires it will be deleted in 45 days, instead of the current 90 days.

– Domain registrations authorized via a bank transfer from an Estonian bank, will be handled instantly. Previously there has been a delay required by the registry.

Improved services’ overview for our clients

Zone launched new and compact “My Zone” administrative panel for it’s clients, which gives more improved overview of their Zone services.

Unlike the previous administrative panel, new version has all services and invoices gathered on one page, which simplifies customers’ service management, ordering new services, and if necessary, payment of invoices.

ZoneID account information can be reviewed and if desired, changed, by clicking the “Account Setting” button on the header. We recommend keeping this data up to date, in that case all important information reaches the relevant recipient.

All services, that are divided into service categories, can be managed in the middle of the page. Invoicing records can be found at the bottom of the page, and in this section it is possible to pay the invoices via direct bank link.

New transfer procedure for .EU domains

On 21th of November between 07.00-10.00 (timezone EET/EEST) it is not possible to register or transfer or trade EU domains. The old .EU domain transfer system will cease to be operational and only the new transfer procedure will be available. Domain renewal orders made during that time will stay on hold until the change has taken effect.

Main changes:

* Transfer transactions will only be successful if they are initiated by the insertion of a unique authorization code (EPP code).

* Authorization code can be ordered through domain management and „My domains“. To request the code click „EPP authorization code“ and it will be sent to registrants email address.

* Transfer and trade orders are initiated immediately after the invoice is paid and payment can be seen in our system. Upon activation of the new system, any transfers still pending will be handled according to the old procedure.

EURid has preserved the right to make random checks on initiated transfers. The transfer transaction is put in a queue that is managed by EURid staff and processed on five working days.

Zone updated its website

Until today Zone clients managed their domain registration and hosting services through two different websites, but from now on these functions are joined into one interface. We’ve also updated the whole website style (design).

The most important changes are following:

  • * domain and hosting services are managed through one webpage using link “My Zone”;
  • * all information about domain registration and hosting services are joined into one website;
  • * information about services is more specific and comprehensive than in previous website.

Both service management interfaces in “My Zone” were also visually updated, but all functionalities remained the same.

We hope that the new structure of Zone website makes usage of our services more flexible and simple. It certainly allows us to provide existing and upcoming services in the future more quicker and easier.
