What to do if the confidentiality of your email account has been compromised?

The confidentiality of a mailbox can be compromised for several reasons, such as a leaked password, malware on the device in use, or other similar factors.

Attention!

If the confidentiality of a mailbox has been compromised, please take into account in your risk assessments that a prior breach of confidentiality of correspondence between you and the other party increases the probability that you and/or the other party may fall victim to scams/fraud.

The following authorities can be notified in case of a breach of email account confidentiality:

  1. The Cyber Incidents Response Department of the Information System Authority, CERT-EE – email address cert@cert.ee or web form at https://raport.cert.ee/
  2. The Police Cybercrime Unit – cybercrime@politsei.ee or web form at https://www.politsei.ee/en/report-to-police
  3. If the incident may have involved a breach of personal data confidentiality, instructions for notifying the Data Protection Inspectorate can be found at https://www.aki.ee/meist/vota-uhendust/rikkumisteade.

For additional information, you can always contact our customer support at info@zone.ee.
