Dear client,
If you’ve recently received a confusing notice about the deletion of your .EE domain, you’re not alone.
Unfortunately, a technical error occurred in the systems of the Estonian Internet Foundation (EIS) on December 12–13, which incorrectly flagged many domain registrations. While this issue didn’t originate from us, we understand that domain-related communication often reaches you through Zone – and as a result, so do the concerns.
Mistakes can happen, even at the registry level. This time, the error came from EIS, and we kindly ask for your understanding as they work to resolve the issue. Below is their official statement with more details:
We inform you that during the automated Business Register check conducted by the Estonian Internet Foundation on December 12–13, a technical error occurred. As a result, deletion procedures were mistakenly initiated for several domain names – many of which had no actual basis for removal.
For domains affected by the erroneous notice, the deletion status will be cleared as soon as possible. We confirm that the functionality of the affected domains has not been interrupted. We apologize for the inconvenience! We are constantly working to improve the processes and quality of the registry.
If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at info@internet.ee and visit our website for more information about .ee domain rules.
Sincerely,
Estonian Internet Foundation
If you still have questions or need clarification about your domain status, don’t hesitate to contact EIS directly.
